The guide has two halves. The model explains how Thrymo thinks — the cycle, the split, savings — and doesn't expire with the next release. Step by step is for when you already have the app open and want to do one specific thing.
The model
How the app thinks. Seven pages that don't expire with the next release.
1Your cycle starts on paydayThrymo doesn't organise your money by calendar months. It runs on the stretch from one payday to the next — the idea to understand first.2Splitting the money into categoriesEvery category is a money goal, never a percentage. And they all start over when a new cycle begins.3Savings is the category that carries overSavings works differently from the rest: it doesn't reset between cycles, it accumulates. And what you set aside stops being available to spend.4Closing a cycle: the gap isn't a telling-offWhen you close, the app asks how much money you actually have and compares it with what you should have left. That difference is the gap.5Your data never leaves your phoneThrymo runs with no account, no cloud and no sync. What you record stays on your phone, and nobody else sees it.6What's free and what's PremiumThe whole habit is free forever. What you pay for is depth: history, trends and patterns.7What Thrymo doesn't doFive absences that are decisions, not gaps: no percentages, no month-against-month, no cloud, and no telling you off.
Setting up your cycle
Setting up your cycle: the first one, and adjusting it when you need to.
1Your first cycleWhat comes in, how you split it, and which day your cycle starts. By the end you know what you're working with until your next payday.2Adding a category without redoing the splitFor when you spot mid-cycle that one's missing: you create it from the home screen, with its amount, and it joins the cycle you're already in.3Changing the split mid-cycleRent went up, or groceries came up short: adjust without closing the cycle and without losing anything you've logged.
Day to day
The weekly stuff: logging what goes out, what comes in and what you set aside.
1Logging an unplanned expenseThe spending that wasn't in the split: how to record it, what the app shows you before you save, and what happens if it puts a category in the red.2Logging a recurring expenseRent, internet, the gym: you set them up once and each cycle reserves them on its own. All you do afterwards is confirm you paid.3Logging extra incomeA transfer, a bit of freelance work, or money in another currency: it lifts what's available without touching the split you already made.4Setting savings aside, and taking them outHow you put money aside each cycle, why it lowers your available balance without counting as spending, and what happens when it's time to use it.5Tracking a debtA debt lives inside a category, with its instalment reserved every cycle, plus a projection of how many months are left.6Keeping your cardsA credit card isn't a debt: it's what you pay with, and it runs on its own calendar. Thrymo keeps it beside your budget, never inside it.7The month calendarThe third way to read your spending: by category, by text, and by when. A grid where every day is painted against your daily pace.
Closing and looking back
The end of a cycle, and everything the app remembers about the ones before.
1Closing a cycleThere's no button: the cycle rolls over on its date and a two-step ritual meets you. Here's the order, and why it's that one.2Finding an expenseBy description, category or amount, accents be damned. And with one promise: if there are matches outside your window, it tells you how many.3Seeing your trends and patternsWhat surfaces after months of logging: whether a category is genuinely tight or you just had bad luck, and what to move to fix it.
Your data
Backups, reminders and settings. The parts that make the app yours.
1Backing up your data, and bringing it backWith no cloud, the backup is the answer to «if I lose my phone, do I lose everything?». You generate it and you choose where it goes.2RemindersNotifications scheduled by your own phone, with no server involved. They remind, they don't nag.3Settings, and starting overYour cycle day, currency, language and theme. Plus the button for a clean start, which archives rather than deletes.
